[Prelude] Taiwan 'not unified back into motherland' 70 years already. There are 3 red lines, and one of them is "timely progression toward unification". These guidelines are majority of Chinese on both sides of Taiwan Strait wishes for both Taiwan and Mainland. It is a measure to the competency of it leadership.
Xi last major speed pleaded a 'peaceful unification' to reassure Chinese on Mainland that it will happen in his time. Taiwan can gain a great deal from his motivation, starting 2022 and 2024, from "反攻大陆 in the past", to "Taiwan not-Independent now", to "台票投统 in the future". A win-win-win-win for 华夏民族 since 1840. 大家加油 !
U.S. said they respect onc China, now what actually happen ?
[Key point #1] Oct 5 both Blinden and Biden, mislead by omission, accused Mainland for disturbing SCS regional peace and intimidating Taiwan. This pretty much the same as Jan. 23 2021, 3rd day into Biden administration US RRCSG entered SCS and Blinken misleading by omission accused Mainland planes responded later that same day as 'unprovoked' disturbing SCS regional peace and military threat to Taiwan, These 'crimes' committed by elected official producing these fake news betraying their voters' trust and all their people; falsely accused its ally China; and lying to the whole world. This blatant disregard of self control, non-stop in your face lies repeatedly are as bad if not worse than the systematic racism all minorities have experienced in the US on a daily basis., these 'double standards' are here to stay with no end in sight.
[#2 Taiwan card or "The Emperor's New Clothes" ?] Let's see what really happen: Mainland had their National Day on Oct 1st, Then Oct 3/4/5, US leading total of 6 nations, 17 surface ships, not counting sub., entered China AZID doing military exercises, then Mainland responded with a total of 150 warplanes in those days. Meanwhile, Taiwan played "victim card" with "defending democracy", "stand up to overwhelming 'foreign power'", etc. US of course called those planes crossing Taiwan AZID as Mainland imposing threat to Taiwan. (FACTS: Ships left Oct. 6, no more planes. afterward.) (They were 3 carriers and two were US' Super with 90 planes carrying capacities EACH. ) The World watch and disparage the nakedness of the poor old king who desperately want to show he is in a position of strength.
[Key Point #3] Clearly "Taiwan Card" is backfiring and making these 6 nations looks like fools offering free live target practising for mainland's pilots. To add salt to injury, all these happen just before Taiwan celebrating its 10-10 day.
[Key Point #4] US is now stepping up using its "nuke card" because US is not complying to those 2 sheets 28 items from China and know mainland will not back down.
(1) US is the only nation nuked another nation, Japan, and subjugate it since. There is no turning back, US will never allow Japan to be independent again unless it is under threat worse than going nuclear.
(2May 27, 2021) — Newly leaked documents show that US officials in 1958 cavalierly planned a nuclear strike on China over a handful of disputed islands.
(3 June) , - Biden and Putin Geneva meeting promised not to nuke each other. Then, US sanction against them. Guess their promises mean something else entirely ?

(7 October 6) Switzerland meeting, 6 hours, afterward Mainland dignitary left immediate and quietly.
[Key Point #5] Mainland announced Xi will not attend G20 in person Shortly afterward, .
